Freight containers are available in a range of shapes and sizes. The standard 20ft and 40ft  containers (for general purposes) are the most commonly used container type in the freight industry although high cube containers are often called upon for light weight, high volume cargoes. Other container types such as flat rack & platform containers are usually used for heavy load or large over-sized cargo.

High Cube containers are very similar to standard containers with the only difference that the high cube and have a height of 9.6 “compared to 8’6” of standard containers. This container height makes this a good choice for light load, but bulky.

Open Top Container Specification

Open Top Containers has no solid roof, instead, have a removable arches with a waterproof canvas for securing ropes to simplify the process of loading and unloading, the head of the door can also be rotated to allow easier access for the load. Open Top Containers are ideal for high volume cargo such as machinery.

Removable arches in open top containers on deck not only has an a canvas but must add that they also have a stability to be transported by sea, so they are ideal for very high loads.

The lashing rings are used to secure and prevent load shifting during transit, these moorings support up to 1000 kg.

CARGO CONTAINERS CARRYING GOODS WITH CONTROLLED TEMPERATURE

SPECIFICATIONS REEFER

Refrigerated containers are used when certain goods, such as fruits, flowers, vegetables, meat and dairy products must be transported at a constant low temperature. Refrigerated containers have a fully integrated cooling machine that is able to maintain the internal temperature of 25 to -25 degrees centigrade. They are available in 20ft and 40ft containers designed to ISO standards.

When refrigerated containers are charging terminals are connected to the power supply terminals while traveling on the ship, the containers are connected to the system power supply vessels; alternatively, they may be equipped with power supplies that use diesel generators to power the refrigeration system, these generators are also used when the container is transported by road or rail.

Refrigerated containers can also be equipped with hook bars where meat and other products can be perfectly hung.

Flat Rack Containers are also used as much as 20 ‘and 40’. They are ideal for large and heavy loads that can not be loaded in containers with walls. The Flat Rack have a load frame high capacity and softwood floor, the walls at each end of a flat rack can be fixed or folding.

End walls on a Flat Rack provide stability so that they can be stacked one above the other and clamping rings that are on the side rails, floor posts and corner to allow the load to be securely held, these lashing rings help withstand loads up to 2000 kg, in the case of 20 kg and 4000 lasbastidores planes in the case of flat racks 40las. Clamping rings which are in the side rails on the floor and the corner posts, allow the load to be firmly held, these load bearing rings up to 2,000 kg, in the case of flat racks 20 ‘, and 4000 kg in the case of flat racks 40 ‘.

The containers can also be supplied with pickle forks and lashing belts 2 metric tons and depending on the type of load. Poles can also be provided.

The platform containers are available on platforms 20 feet and 40 feet. Flat surface structure is constructed in wood with a steel structure and has an extremely high load capacity, which makes it possible to concentrate heavy weights in small areas.

The containers are ideal platform for project large cargo and heavy, which are difficult to be transported in another type of container as high cube or Open Top. The containers 40 feet from the platform have “lashing rings” to secure the load of up to 3,000 kg in the side rails gooseneck and tunnels at each end.

The platform containers can be tied together to create larger for large loads and heavy that exceed the specifications of the standard platform platform.

Tank containers are used for transporting gases or liquids, which are often used to transport hazardous cargo as fuel and toxic substances. Tank containers should be filled to at least 80% capacity and must not exceed 95% of its capacity, this is to allow for thermal expansion sufficient empty space preventing dangerous surf liquids in transit.
